Should my dog be on the sofa? Or how about the bed?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions I have. It really is! And the short answer..? Well, it's up to you.

Whether you choose to have your dog on the sofa, or on the bed, is entirely your decision! In the dogs head, it makes no difference what so ever. However...

Keeping your dog off the sofa, helps you out, a lot, as a human.

When we start to control where our dogs are and are not allowed, we automatically start to gain more control over them. It's one sure fire way to start to get some of those basic rules and boundaries in place. We slowly teach ourselves, how to tell our dogs "no".

Which, believe it or not, most dogs have no concept of what NO actually means! So when we begin to introduce this, it can sometimes be hard! But, it's a good starting place.

I enjoy cuddles with my dogs just as much as the next person does, but, we have a time and a place for it.

My dogs are allowed on the sofa, but only when I say so. And when I tell them to get off... they listen. So. Having dogs on the sofa in itself, is certainly no biggie, but! If you need to start to teach your dogs to listen, then it's a really great place to start!
